Our Scholarship in the Arts applications for 2026 have opened this year with an exciting new twist.  While high school juniors and seniors can still apply for scholarship money and mentorships, our performing artist applicants may also have the chance to perform beside professionals.

In 2025, Guilford native and 2013 vocal music scholarship winner, Kyle Bejnerowicz, reached

out to Shoreline Arts Alliance because he wanted to pay it forward. Shoreline Arts Alliance had helped encourage and empower Kyle to pursue a singing career. In 2024, he co-founded The Diamond Baritones, a Netherlands-based group that performs a mix of modern, classic and rock songs. The group appeared on Holland’s Got Talent, and thanks to the “Golden Buzzer”, was sent straight to the semi-final round. The Diamond Baritones gave a highly successful scholarship benefit performance for Shoreline Arts Alliance in 2025.

The Diamond Baritones are returning in the spring of 2027 and, because Kyle believes that the support and recognition of a Shoreline Arts Alliance scholarship played a major role in his success, he wants to help encourage and empower more students. Shoreline Arts Alliance’s 2027 scholarship winners in dance, instrumental music, theatre and vocal music may be chosen to perform onstage with The Diamond Baritones. A concert is scheduled for The Kate in Old Saybrook and another is being planned at Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts.

Shoreline Arts Alliance’s Scholarships in the Arts program is open to high school juniors and seniors residing within Shoreline Arts Alliance’s 24 town region who are pursuing further study in the arts. Applicants may apply in the fields of Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theatre, Visual Art, and Vocal Music.

Deserving students will be awarded scholarships ranging from $250 - $1000. The winner in each category will receive a $1,000 scholarship for continuing education and/or supplies as well as a mentorship with a professional artist. Applications are now available through the Shoreline Arts Alliance website and will be accepted through November 30, 2026. Applicants will be contacted to schedule interviews and auditions.

Students who reside in the 24 town region (region includes all of Middlesex County, Madison, Guilford, North Branford, Branford, East Haven, Lyme, East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Salem) and are interested in the arts are encouraged to apply.

The applications are judged by professional, working artists in each field of study who provide valuable feedback to each student.
