Scholarships

in the Arts 

 

A Juried Scholarship Competition for High School Juniors and Seniors

 

Since 1981, Shoreline Arts Alliance has offered arts scholarships to high school juniors and seniors in the following disciplines: creative writing, dance, instrumental music, musical theater, theater, visual arts and vocal music.

 

Winners receive scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 and first place winners in each category are provided with professional mentorships. 

The Jeffrey Dobbs Scholarship for Excellence in Painting and the Richard S. Dart Memorial Arts Scholarship are endowed scholarships to encourage young artists and provide support for future study. 

 

All judges are professional artists in their respective disciplines.  Participating high schools and community programs are highlighted for their commitment to excellence in the arts.

Benefits for the Artist

  • Scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to encourage further artistic study

  • All applicants receive valuable feedback on auditions, portfolios, and interviews

  • Professional mentorship awarded to First Place Winners

Application Submission Information

 

  • The deadline to apply is January 4, 2024.

  • Application Fee: $25 per application. 

    • Cash or checks made payable to Shoreline Arts Alliance are acceptable. Fee is for administrative overhead and is nonrefundable. If the application fee is a hardship, please contact eric@shorelinearts.org and alternative arrangements will be made.

    • You may apply in more than 1 category. Complete application and fee are required for each submission.
