The spirits of Clinton are ready to come out after dark
Shoreline Theater Academy Kidz Konnection is bringing back its popular Haunted Spirits of Clinton Lantern Tours, inviting visitors and locals alike to experience the darker side of Clinton’s history through an evening of stories, legends, and ghostly tales.
The lantern tours take guests on a journey along Clinton’s historic downtown Main Street and into the Indian River Cemetery, where many famous, enigmatic, early American figures are now buried, sharing stories of the people, places, mysteries, and unexplained happenings that have become part of the town’s past.
Four tours each night beginning at 6:30pm and running every 30 minutes will begin in front of the Shoreline Theater Academy/Kidz Konnection at 61 East Main Street in Clinton. From there, participants will follow their guides through historic Clinton as they hear tales that may make them look at Clinton a little differently after sunset. Legends told through the generations, some folklore, some fact, are enacted at the gravesites of these early pioneers, ship merchants and political figures. An open feud with the President of Yale becomes paranoia that "secret societies" were plotting to enslave the country; a well-established Connecticut family fights to clear their own from being marked a witch; murmurs still whispered today that Captain Kidd once buried his treasure not far from our shores. These tales, mysteries, and lore, will be retold after sunset when the spirits come awake for just a short while.
Whether you're a longtime Clinton resident, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun and spooky way to celebrate the Halloween season, Haunted Spirits of Clinton offers an entertaining evening for those who aren't afraid to explore the unknown. Details:
