Middletown Kicks Off America's 250th on March 27

Middlesex County is invited to join in ceremony with the City of Middletown on Friday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the South Green /Union Park, Middletown, CT for the adoption of a town proclamation recognizing the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of the resources available from the America 250 Commission, the Connecticut Semiquincentennial Commission, the Middletown|Portland America’s 250th Committee and the America 250 | Portland CT Committee to observe the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Through coordinated commemorative events and planned historical activities, each committee is providing opportunities for public discourse around Connecticut’s complete history. The City of Middletown pledges to uplift, support, and generate commemorative opportunities by sponsoring these additional and annual upcoming spring, summer and fall events in the City of Middletown.
• Friday, March 27 – America’s 250th Kick off Flag Raising and Town Proclamation Ceremony, South Green/Union Park, 1pm
• Monday, May 25 – Annual Memorial Day Parade
• Saturday, June 6 – Middletown PRIDE Parade
• Friday, June 19 – Juneteenth Parade
• Saturday, June 27th – Annual Fireworks Festival
• Saturday, July 4th –All-County Themed Parade
• October – Amistad Tall Ship visits Middletown
