“A company whose artists are passionate about creating work which manifests love and healing into the world”… “A company that attracts dancers and choreographers who want to explore how their art can be used to advocate inclusion for those pushed to the margins of society”… “A company committed to providing affordable, small and intimate performances which create safe spaces to hold meaningful discussions with our audiences” – These are just some of the phrases that sum up the vision of Ekklesia Ballet.
Based in Middletown, Connecticut, Ekklesia works in partnership with Church of the Holy Trinity, a diverse, inclusive, liturgical church and shares its mission to serve the community, take action on social justice issues and create a space where Art and Faith can flourish.
Founded by Elisa Schroth in 2020, the company includes seven dancers from throughout the country and is known for its annual performance of Ahavah each December.
On Friday, April 10th, 2026, Ekklesia will host its most important fundraising event of the year. The Old Hollywood Gala will feature a dance performance by Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and LIVE music by renowned CT band Eight to the Bar at the Wadsworth Mansion on Long Hill Estate in Middletown, CT. The evening will include delicious food, and creative cocktails by DORO Catering (voted Connecticut’s Caterer of the Year in 2022), featuring a custom menu created just for this night. This “can’t miss” night of romance, friendship and celebration will help launch brilliant artistic works, and support valuable education and community engagement initiatives in Middletown.
This event is open to the public and is for ages 18 years and older. Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet is a non-profit 501c3 organization. All donations are tax deductible.
Admission cost of the event: $125
