Instructions for Works on Paper:
Photography, Drawings, Collage, Pastels and Prints
-
All submitted drawings, prints, or otherwise flexible 2D works need to be neatly matted. Please ensure your mat is thick enough that it will provide some rigidity to your drawing. Please also make sure that it will not separate from your artwork, and that it is free of smudges.
-
Please make sure the face of your drawing is properly fixed with fixing spray. This is especially true for charcoal and pastel works.
-
White or black mats only. No colored mats.
-
Please make sure there are two ZigZag picture hangers on the back of your artwork. Make sure they are properly affixed and will not peel off when hung.
-
Do not frame your artwork. Works with glass frames will not be permitted.
-
Works larger than 48" x 48" will not be considered unless special permission has been obtained.
-
Please make sure your Name, School, Grade, Title of Work, Medium, Price and total number of works entered are all included with the work. You may use one of our Information Tags for this purpose.
Instructions for Works on Canvas or Panel:
Paintings
-
Submitted canvas or panel works do not need to be framed or matted as long as they are rigid enough to be hung. Works with glass or excessively heavy/ornate frames will not be accepted. Simple light wooden frames will be accepted for works on canvas or panel only.
-
Works need to have two closed hooks affixed to the back of the artwork for hanging. They should be placed towards the top of the canvas, about 3/4ths of the way up. Please make sure they are properly affixed and will be able to hold the weight of your work.
-
Works need to be fully dry in order to be submitted. Do not submit wet artworks.
-
Works larger than 48" x 48" will not be considered unless special permission has been obtained.
-
Please make sure your Name, School, Grade, Title of Work, Medium, Price and total number of works entered are all included with the work. You may use one of our Information Tags for this purpose.
