Oddfellows offers Musical Mentoring for kids starting October 5

Oddfellows Playhouse in Middletown announces Fall Musical Mentoring for ages 6 – 11 starting October 5. All meetings will be held virtually, and loaner instruments are available for the six week class series. Musical Mentoring, now in its fourth year, is offered as a partnership between Oddfellows and Cardinal Kids, a student-run arts collective at Wesleyan University. Musical Mentoring provides local students with weekly one-on-one music lessons with a Wesleyan Music student. Available instruments include guitar, keyboard, voice, ukulele, violin, cello, bass guitar, double bass, clarinet, oboe, and saxophone. Lessons for ages 9 – 11 will be held on Mondays, 4:30 – 5:30 pm, and for ages 6 –

Connecticut Dance Alliance is hosting CT Dance Now!- a series of 10 virtual dance events hosted in partnership with Connecticut University and Collegiate dance departments. CT Dance Now! events will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM via Zoom. No preregistration is needed, simply log into https://www.thequicklive.com/ for each event. New Haven Museum Receives COVID-19 Grant from Connecticut Humanities

New Haven, Conn. (September 10, 2020) – Connecticut Humanities has awarded the New Haven Museum a $15,000 COVID-19 Relief Grant. The grant funds will be used to support staff salaries, defray expenses incurred during the museum’s closure due to COVID-19, and expenses related to the safe reopening of the museum to the public. Musical Masterworks and Community Music School are pleased to announce the recipient of the fourth annual Musical Masterworks Scholarship in Honor of Nancy D. Thomas. Elizabeth Steindl, the 2020 recipient of the Musical Masterworks Scholarship in Honor of Nancy D. Thomas, is eleven and in sixth grade at Old Saybrook Middle School. Elizabeth studies violin with Martha Herrle at Community Music School, and also plays clarinet in her school band, sings in her school chorus, and is a regular participant in area music camps.
