The 46th season of Essex Winter Series begins in 2023 with its first concert on January 22, featuring the New Haven Symphony Orchestra conducted by Donato Cabrera and with marimba soloist Aya Kaminaguchi. More than 50 musicians will fill the stage at Valley Regional High School to delight the audience by performing selections from Antonín Dvorák, Emmanuel Séjourné, Anna Clyne and Richard Strauss.

This wonderful event will be followed by the quite lively Jeff Barnhart and His Hot Jazz Collective on February 26, which brings back fan favorites like Vince Giordano and Jim Fryer. Gaining press worldwide, Project: Music Heals Us String Trio will be the third concert, on March 12, with pianist Mihae Lee joining this ambassador group of Andre Janss (cello), Stephanie Zyzak (violin), and Brian Hong (violin and viola). The season will close with the Grammy Award-winning choral group, Chanticleer – often referred to as a “orchestra of voices” – returning to our stage on April 23.

Concerts begin at 3 pm and are general admission. For tickets visit www.essexwinterseries.com or call 860-272-4572. As a precaution and if necessary for our audience, artists and staff, following Covid health guidelines may be required.

The 2023 EWS season is generously sponsored by The Clark Group, Essex Meadows, Essex Savings Bank, Jeffrey N. Mehler CFP LLC, Tower Laboratories, BrandTech Scientific, Masonicare at Chester Village, WSHU, the Connecticut Office of the Arts and the Connecticut Office of the Humanities.
