Scholarships in the Arts 2022
Juried Scholarship Competition for High School Juniors and Seniors
Since 1981, Shoreline Arts Alliance has offered arts scholarships to high school juniors and seniors in the following disciplines: creative writing, dance, instrumental music, musical theater, theater, visual arts and vocal music.
Winners receive $1,000 scholarships, and winners and special recognition awardees in each category are provided with professional mentorships.
In 2019 The Jeffrey Dobbs Scholarship for Excellence in Painting was added to encourage young artists and provide support for future study. Eligible works must utilize paint as the primary focus of the piece. However, unique processes and unconventional works will be both accepted and encouraged.
All judges are professional artists in their respective disciplines. Participating high schools and community programs are highlighted for their commitment to excellence in the arts.
The deadline has recently been changed from December to March, to give students ample time to prepare their materials. Please mark your calendar.
Applications will be accepted until March 28, 2022.
Application Fee: $25 per application. You may apply in more than 1 category. Complete application and fee are required for each submission. Cash or checks made payable to Shoreline Arts Alliance are acceptable. Fee is for administrative overhead and is nonrefundable. If the application fee is a hardship, please contact the office and alternative arrangements will be made.
Showcase/Reception to be held at a date to be determined.
