Juried Scholarship Competition for High School Juniors and Seniors
Since 1981, Shoreline Arts Alliance has offered the Top Talent Awards in support of arts education and in recognition of young artists. High school juniors and seniors are invited to apply for this annual scholarship program in one or more of the following artistic disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Visual Arts, Musical Theatre and Acting.
Cash awards of $1,000 are offered to the winner in each of artistic area. Winners and special recognition awardees are provided with a professional mentorship.
In addition, beginning in 2019, a new scholarship, The Jeffrey Dobbs Scholarship for Excellence in Painting, was added to encourage young artists and provide support for them to further their artistic studies. Eligible works must utilize paint as the primary focus of the piece. However, unique processes and unconventional works will be both accepted and encouraged.
Live auditions are held in Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Musical Theatre and Acting. Portfolios are submitted for Creative Writing and Visual Arts. All judges are professional artists in their respective disciplines. Participating high schools and community programs are highlighted for their commitment to excellence in the arts.
Applications will be accepted until April 10, 2020
Application Fee: $25 per application. You may apply in more than 1 category. Complete application and fee are required for each submission. Cash or checks made payable to Shoreline Arts Alliance are acceptable. Fee is for administrative overhead and is nonrefundable. If the application fee is a hardship, please contact the office and alternative arrangements will be made.
