FUSE Theatre of CT Seeking Singer-Actors forProduction of William Finn & James Lapine’s “Falsettos."

New Haven, CT: FUSE Theatre of CT seeks seven singer-actors to join a June production of the Tony-winning musical Falsettos. The roles are listed below. All ethnicities, type and physical abilities are welcome. Fuse will accept video submissions February 14 through February 28. An audition form can be found at FuseTheatreCT.org or https://forms.gle/xCTZmRsNqLYiaC6C7. Please include two contrasting songs, 16 or 32 bars in length. MARVIN: Trina’s ex and Jason’s father / Jewish / Male-presenting / 30s-40s / Baritone (Low A to E)


TRINA: Marvin’s ex and Jason’s mother / Jewish / Female-presenting / 30s-40s / Mezzo (Low A to E)


JASON: Marvin and Trina’s preteen son / Jewish / Male-presenting / 10-14 / Tenor (Low G to E)


WHIZZER: Marvin’s lover / Half-Jewish / Male-presenting / 20s-40s / Tenor (Low Bb to G)


MENDEL: Marvin’s psychiatrist / Jewish / Male-presenting / 30-40s / Baritone (Bb to to high C#) DR.


CHARLOTTE: an internist, Cordelia’s partner and Marvin’s friend / 20s-50s / Mezzo (Low B to Eb)


CORDELIA: A caterer, Charlotte’s partner and Marvin’s friend / 20s-50s / Soprano (Low A to Eb)


Falsettos features a score by William Finn and a book by Finn & James Lapine. “Hilarious, heartbreaking and utterly unique, Falsettos is a contemporary musical about family, relationships, bar mitzvahs, baseball and AIDS. When Marvin leaves his wife Trina and son Jason to be with his lover Whizzer, tempers flare, problems escalate and everyone learns to grow up.”

“Falsettos” will take place the first two weekends in June at Bregamos Theater in New Haven, CT. The rehearsal schedule will reflect the cast’s availability, likely Sunday afternoons plus a few weeknights. The rehearsal and performance venue are handicap accessible.
