Essex Winter Series Presents the Brentano String Quartet with Pianist Mihae Lee in December 2022

ESSEX, CT – Early 2022 was filled with challenges for live events, requiring the postponement of the originally scheduled Essex Winter Series January concert, but the organization persevered! The joyful presentation of this much-anticipated, in-person event will now take place at Valley Regional High School on Sunday, December 18, with the world-renowned Brentano String Quartet and our own EWS Artistic Director and pianist, Mihae Lee. The Quartet – comprised of Mark Steinberg (violin), Misha Amory (viola), Serena Canin (violin) and Nina Lee (cello) – is one of the premier string quartets in the world. Performance selections include pieces by Haydn, Hensel and Schumann.
The 46th season of Essex Winter Series begins in 2023 with its first concert on January 22, featuring the New Haven Symphony Orchestra conducted by Donato Cabrera and with marimba soloist Aya Kaminaguchi. This delightful event will be followed by the quite lively Jeff Barnhart and His Hot Jazz Collective on February 26. Gaining press worldwide, Project: Music Heals Us String Trio will be the third concert, on March 12, with pianist Mihae Lee joining this ambassador group of Andre Janss (cello), Stephanie Zyzak (violin), and Brian Hong (violin and viola). The season will close with the Grammy-award winning choral group, Chanticleer, returning to our stage on April 23.
