Connecticut’s Oldest State-Wide Photography Competition Accepting Submissions for 2019 Show

Shoreline Arts Alliance’s IMAGES, Connecticut’s oldest photography competition, is holding submissions for the 2019 exhibition in Guilford, CT

 

Guilford, CT- Shoreline Arts Alliance is opening submissions for IMAGES, Connecticut’s oldest state-wide photography competition, March 2019. IMAGES is a jury-curated photography exhibition that runs in Guilford, CT from March 21 to April 6 before moving to Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT from April to May. Shoreline Arts Alliance has been running this state wide competition for 38 years.

 

Submissions for Shoreline Arts Alliance’s IMAGES are on March 15 from 4 – 8 pm, March 16 from 10 am – 4 pm, and March 17 from 10 am – 4 pm at 411 Church St, Guilford, CT.  These submission dates are for entrants to drop off their physical work for review by the three out of state judges. Submissions must be completed online before being dropped off during the submission times. The 2019 Judges are Mary Frey, Professional Photographer and Educator from Massachusetts, James Welling, Professional Photographer and Writer from New York, and David DeMelim, Professional Photographer and Managing Director of Providence Center for Photographic Arts. These judges will be joining Shoreline Arts Alliance in March to judge the submitted works of Connecticut based photographers. The judges are tasked with selecting works to hang during the IMAGES exhibition as well as giving out Awards to several artists such as First Honors and the Ann Christensen Award.

 

Shoreline Arts Alliance encourages all Connecticut Photographers of all skill-level to submit their work to IMAGES. All jurying is done blind, with the artist name hidden from the judges’ eyes.

 

The IMAGES 2019 Exhibition will run from Thursday, March 21 to Saturday, April 6 in the Guilford Art Center’s Gallery at 411 Church St, Guilford, CT. From April 10 – May 7 selected works will be moved and hung at Connecticut Hospice located at 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT.
