Patricia Shoemaker is a landscape and still life painter, working in oil, pastel and watercolor. After attending Wells College for two years, where she studied fine arts and spent a semester at the Art Student’s League, she received her BFA from the University of Georgia. Several years later, she attended the Yale Brissago (Switzerland) Summer Program, and then received her MFA in graphic design from the Yale School of Art, where she was awarded the Alexei Brodovitch Prize.
After many years working as a graphic designer, she returned to painting—both en plein air and from her studio. Patricia is an elected member of the Madison Art Society, an associate member of the Lyme Art Association, Pastel Society of America, and Oil Painters of America, a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society and Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.
