Melissa Imossi is an award-winning contemporary realist artist. She is known for her close-up studies of nature, where she examines the graphic quality of a single subject, emphasizing symmetry, repetition and rhythm. Recently, Melissa has found new inspiration from the lake in her own backyard in Madison, CT, which has inspired a series of water paintings. She is the recipient of several national and regional awards, including “Best in Show” at the Connecticut Association of Fine Arts Annual Member Exhibit in 2022, Third Place” in Long Island Museum’s “I Sing the Body Electric” in 2019 and “Best in Show” at the American Art Awards in 2015. She is an Elected Member of the Lyme Art Association, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Madison Art Society and the Academic Artists Association. She is also a member of the Oil Painters of America and the Salmagundi Club.
