The Guilford Art League’s Winter 2019 Member Exhibition is on view through Wednesday, March 6, at the Guilford Community Center’s Menunkatuck Room (second floor), 32 Church St., Guilford.
Every year the GAL mounts three shows of members’ work in the center’s Menunkatuck Room – in the fall, winter and spring for three months each. The GAL also presents a solo or two-artist show during the summer. Most of the pieces are for sale; in fact, several have been sold from the last two shows.
This winter show includes 37 artworks in a wide range of styles and mediums (oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, brushed ink, collage, pastel, monotype and mixed media).
Anne Coffey, the show’s organizer, said “With the freshly painted walls and new hanging system, the Menunkatuck Room is now a truly professional exhibition space.”
The artists include Pat Anderson, Jay Babina, Sister Joan Bernard, Geoffrey Bye, Denise Casey, Marge Casey, RJ Christofferson, Anne Coffey, Dianne Coyle, Sheila Creed, Raffael DiLauro, Robert Fort, Oi Fortin, Arthur Guagliumi, Jane Harris, Ann R. Langdon, Lillian Levine, Diana Perron, Beverly Schirmeier, Patricia Seekamp, William Seekamp, Marja Watson.
The league currently has 200 members, most of them from shoreline communities, although any Connecticut resident is welcome to join.

The current exhibition is free and open to the public 7 days a week unless the space is being used for a class or a meeting.
