5:30 - 7:30: Music on
the Dock at the Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main
Street, CT 06426, Essex 860-767-8269 July 9th, Friday,
9:40 PM: All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 19 Jay
Street, New London 06320 (sponsored
by Friday Night Folk) 19 Jay
Street, New London 06320 Has
Americana musical group Amalgamated Muck created a monster - making a minotaur
out of a mini tour? You'll just have to come to one of the early July shows to
find out! "The Muck"
or "A. Muck" as their fans affectionately call them, has taken on an ambitious
three dates, all in a row. One in Ivoryton, the next in Essex, and the last in
New London: there are three great opportunities to hear the powerful
up-and-coming amalgamation of talent formed by Grammy-nominated songwriter and
vocalist Lauren Agnelli with Rose Bengston (vocals), Matthew Male (percussion),
Rodney Maxwell (guitars, vocals), and Brian Wolfe (guitar, mandolin, mandola,
tipple and vocals). With firm
roots in vintage country, hearkening back to (and including songs by) Johnny
Cash and the Carter Family, A. Muck plays old favorites and new gems alike,
making an old song sound new, and a new song sound timeless! As Matthew
Male, co-founder and soundman, likes to say "We have five headfuls of songs,
two carloads of instruments, and three great nights of music. Come listen to
our songs, sit around on the green, on the dock, or in the Church, and feel
good!" All in all,
these are nights of musical delight for all ages, so do please come on out and
tell your friends to join you for the Great Amalgamated Muck July Mini Tour!
